  • So if I’ve been a bit MIA on this account, this is why! It was my birthday yesterday and I have to say, to date this was one of my BEST birthdays ever. I don’t want to get redundant because I’m going to write a heart warming post (usually an essay) on my personal account @mea_shell.   • Ohhhhm...Meditation. 🧘‍♀️ It’s something I’m working on practicing daily. Do you meditate? 🙏What’s been the impact in your life from consistent meditation? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

    As a high energy A type personality.. I tend to go full throttle for far too long then hit a wall. 😔That’s what happened recently. I am dedicated to my clients success no matter what. And sometimes that can be a negative. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    💁🏼‍♀️Have you ever had Thyroiditis? Inflamed, High functioning thyroid? I have that right now. After being sick for 6 weeks. (Yikes) And I’m on some medication for pain and inflammation and waiting for the referral to an endocrinologist at UofA. More blood tests and thyroid scan. Next week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    😢Pretty scary when I didn’t know what was wrong and had 19 blood tests and an ultrasound. I started thinking about all the things I wanted to do before my time is up on earth. 🌍. Thx to my friend janelle @yogaatthelake for being by my side and offering advice on how to heal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

    Similar to tending to my new @officialaerogarden ... I need to give myself the time to meditate and do it consistently to yield long term results. I use the @calm App. It’s ahhhmazing! ⭐️

    💁🏼‍♀️When I have more energy I’ll be going back to @pranayogastudio For some hot yoga flow. Which I love. 🙏Hope you are healthy and strong. Do appreciate that because we don’t know how important health is until we don’t have it. 👉🏻Onward and forward in a calm and purposeful way. 😇

    Often times we assume pain is a direct result of tissue injury or harm, and that pain is always a bad thing. However, research has shown that pain is an output from the brain in response to cumulative effects of all the perceived threats and dangers in our lives.

    Sensory input of pain (aka nociception) is one of many other inputs that our brain can perceive as pain. But there are many other non-physical factors that our brain can perceive as pain.

    Contrary to popular belief pain isn’t always a bad thing. Pain output has a protective factor for us. It alerts us that we need to make a change in order to reduce the chance of injury.
    .
    What about persistent/chronic pain? While there is no doubt that some injuries may cause chronic pain. However, knowing that pain encompasses both physical and non-physical attributes we can directly influence our pain response. If we change our mindset we can reduce the amount of pain that we feel!

    Remember that our brains are extremely powerful. We often tell those in the clinic that the body will do what the brain wants, as long as you truly believe in it. #UnderstandPain
