  • Did you know that our linens are G.O.T.S. and OEKO-TEX certified on a yearly bases? But what exactly G.O.T.S means?
According to global-standard.org's website "The Global Organic Textile Standard (G.O.T.S.) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain". Textiles in order to be certified have to meet environmental, human toxicity and social criteria. "Prohibition of critical inputs such as toxic heavy metals, formaldehyde, aromatic solvents, functional nano particles, genetically modified organisms (GMO) and their enzymes" just to name a few nasties that sometimes can be found in our regular clothing 🤢
This certification also covers people from farmers to employees to be receiving fair wages, fair working hours and conditions, a safe and non-toxic environment and prohibition of child labor of any form.
And what about OEKO-TEX? "The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. The OEKO-TEX® tests for harmful substances are fundamentally based on the respective purpose of the textiles and materials. The more intensive the skin contact of a product and the more sensitive the skin, the stricter the human-ecological requirements that need to be complied with" (according to oeko-tex.com). When a fabrics becomes certified, it means it's safe even when it contacts babies' skin.
Do you pay attention of the material of the garments you purchase?
