  • 📚What My Sister Knew by Nina Laurin📚
    • Following her debut novel “Girl Last Seen,” this book did NOT disappoint. I flew through this one, just as I did the first. Laurin tells the haunting tale of a family wrapped up in bloody secrets. This book tells the “complex story about the effects of secrets, the lingering consequences of abuse, the inner workings of deeply troubled households, familial love, and the way we are shaped by trauma.” 📖

    • You don’t want to miss out on Nina Laurin! It’s safe to say I’m obsessed with her work! 🥰 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars

  • Family Blood (2018)
Ellie, a recovering drug addict, has just moved to a new city with her two teenage children...Her life changes when she meets Christopher - a different kind of addict - which forces her daughter and son to accept a new version of Ellie.
    _______________________________________________________________
This movie was a bit of a waste of time. It didn't leave an impression at all. It was very basic with a very slow build up. There are a few pointless characters and not much substance to the movie overall. The beginning scene lacks an explanation as well. If you are in the mood for a dry, horror drama, then maybe you should check it out, but otherwise, avoid it.

  • NAO OLHE PRA TRAS E PACEIRAAAAAS.... ALÔ ALÔ NETFLIX, JA QUERO A SERIE!

EU AMEI A AMBIENTAÇÃO DESSE LIVRO!

  • I read Murder In The Dark by Betsy Reavley @bloodhoundbooks_publishing a few weeks back, way long time ago when I’d never heard of the genre “cozy mystery”... but the book description along with the phrase #cozymystery got to me, so I bought and read the book.
As it turns out, Murder In The Dark was fantastic! When the owner of a book store is found dead - hanging inside his store, is it suicide, or was he murdered? Soon after, a woman is found dead in her home. Did her ex-husband kill her?

Both victims had a finger removed at the time of death.
And now a man has been reported missing by his wife. Oddly enough, a severed finger is sent to the local newspaper in a box not long after the man goes missing.

Are these events related, and if so, how? And did the victims know each other? Murder In The Dark is a police procedural novel that drew me in right away, and didn’t let me go until I was done reading the entire book! It had me asking, who is this author Betsy Reavley, and what else has she written? It turns out Betsy Reavley has numerous other books, and as luck has it I just scored an advanced copy of her upcoming book, Broken, which comes out next month! I can’t wait to sink my claws into it!

Happy reading everyone, the week is almost over! 😜

  • The Good Son
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book is fantastic. It's an English translation of "South Korea's Steven King." If you're burned out on all the seemingly formulaic domestic thrillers (you know the ones I'm talking about... there's often a "woman" or "girl"....she may or may not be an alcoholic but she's definitely an unreliable narrator...and her husband/boyfriend/etc is ddangerous), this book is the anidote. I thought this book was totally unique, fresh, and shocking. It has all the components of a quality thriller but manages to keep the reader on her toes the whole time. There are constant twists and reveals all the way to the final page. I hope that Penguin plans on publishing more English translations of You-Jeong Jeong's works. I won't tell any of the plot because it is truly best if you go in totally blind. I will say those who are highly sensitive should proceed with caution.

  • I just finished this book and I was pleasantly surprised. The sisterly bond between Grace and Millie was so powerful and I loved the character of Millie, who has down syndrome but let’s it be known she isn’t gullible... wow. Would definitely recommend #bookish #thriller #behindcloseddoors
