  • The lunches @love_mohr makes me are always good but I gotta brag about this one today. Oxtail stew with mushroom onion potatoes carrots and celery on the left. I asked for some greens today so she picked the salad from our garden and added garbanzo beans, cucumber, carrot, red onion, fermented green beans, olives, avocado, and tossed it up in a fire cider vinaigrette. Homemade mayo on the side with some organic pretzel chips for a little crunch. My appetite is WAY up from hitting the sauna so much lately so this might just hit the spot. Thanks honey! #officelunch #nosetotail #growyourownfood #lovemywife #realfood #oxtail #nutritious

  • ❥ HOMEMADE WHOLEMEAL MULTIGRAIN + SEED BREAD ↠ you guys there is just something so therapeutic in baking your own bread. And the taste is out of this world… It all started because I got tired paying $8 for a loaf of good rye and seed bread and the fact I did not know what was in the bread I was eating. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I bake my own from scratch bread every single week because that way I know exactly what is in it. Not to mention that my homemade bread is more filling than any store bought bread which is obvious by the fact that my husband and I stretch one loaf of bread for a whole week. If there are no sandwiches planned for that week a loaf will last us almost two weeks. We bake it, cut it into slices and freeze it.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are other benefits to making your own bread: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lower sodium - commercially sold bread contain around 100g of sodium per slice! If you DIY you can limit how much salt you add to your loaf.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Low on sugar - store-bought bread is unnecessarily full of sugar just for the taste. Making your own bread puts you in control to add as much or as little of anything really.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Allergen-free - the option of making bread at home is especially important for those who have food allergies. Bread made commercially can easily come in contact with allergens as they are produced on the same equipment.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have a go at making it yourself 😃 and tag me in your creations. Swipe for a recipe 👉🏻

  • Did you know that dates, even though sweet, are a low glycemic index food? The glycemic index measures how quickly your blood sugar rises after eating a certain food. This is because dates are a great source of fiber, which is beneficial for blood sugar control because it slows digestion and keeps blood sugar levels from quickly spiking after eating.

  • I do my best to listen to my body and eat when I’m actually hungry, so I don’t always eat breakfast. But yesterday I got to work and realised I needed to eat. So I ducked across to the shops and grabbed a small fruit salad from @soulorigin. While there were no veggies in sight, this fresh fruit salad was exactly what I needed. Light, fresh and left me feeling good afterwards. And the coffee was pretty good too! #fruitsalad #paleowithouttrying #treatbreakfast #healthybutyummy #breakfastatwork
