  • [DO LESS, BETTER] I didn't realise it, but by the time Dec had rolled around last year, I was burnt out 😫
    ⁣⁣
    I didn't even recognise it as it had creeped up on me in a very subtle way. I am prone to burn-out; being a Activator/High Achiever type I tend to push, push and push. I know this about myself so am pretty disciplined with my schedule and work load HOWEVER it seems my workload still got the better of me (oops 👎🏾)⁣⁣
    ⁣⁣
    The signs of burnout for me, in the past, have included illness, recurring muscle niggles and tension, low energy and apathy. None of this occurred for me last year. In fact, I was physically at my best. ⁣⁣
    ⁣⁣
    The best I have been in years - feeling strong, fit and full of energy (also down 5 kg due to cleaning up my nutrition ✅)
    ⁣⁣
    But whilst I was physically on form, my mental health wasn't. I had ZERO motivation to do any type of work-related thing. My thinking was foggy and I couldn't focus. It was as if I had 10 monkeys inside my head at a rave. ⁣⁣
    ⁣⁣
    I couldn't bear the thought of planning or reviewing or even writing in my journal (see previous post about this). These are ALL the things I love but just couldn't face them.⁣⁣
    ⁣⁣
    So this year I have to do things differently. I'm not adding MORE to my workload; my intention for this year is to strip it away. To, in the words of @elisedarma "DO LESS, BETTER" (this was in one of her emails and it resonated so much 🙏🏽🙏🏽 THANK YOU!). The focus is on doing less but with much better quality. Soooo more 🏖 days I guess 🤷🏾‍♀️🙌🏽
