  • Rear Delt activation drills pre benching.
    Why? With so much load going through our anterior deltoid in each pressing movement, conditioning our Rear Delt (posterior delt) is equally as important to maintain symmetry within our pressing movements / stabilising our shoulder as well as for our posture. When considering external rotation of our shoulders in a press (which is what you should be doing) our Rear Delts are heavily used in this movement. When combining this with both retraction and depression of our scaps, we are positioning our shoulder in a much safer position.
    Assuming you’d like to remain injury free, externally rotating your shoulders alongside both retraction and depression of our scaps gives much greater access to our rear delts and lats whilst also suppressing the use of our traps. These are 3 Rear Delt exercises I personally use for myself and my clients.

    2. Cable Facepull
    3. Laying Shoulder Anti-Rotation
