  • Well well well. 46.
    .
My day started with my regular 5:15am client, who said to me, “Rachel I’m so sorry you have to get up so early for me on your birthday!”
    .
I laughed, and then told her not to be sorry because I love what I do. truly. I’m not just being all sappy on my bday.
    .
Getting up early to help someone kind, strong, and focused get even stronger is an awesome way to start my birthday.
    .
After making my morning clients sweat and give me eye daggers after the kinda mean finishers I planned today, I did my own tough workout. Now that my shoulders are quaking, I’m off to take a walk in the winter sun.
    .
Thanks for all of the texts and messages this morning! You guys are the best! 😍

  • Wednesday wake up! Life is short, precious and a gift. Personally I look at taking care of my mind body and spirit as a thank you for being able to live in this vast and experience this wonderful life. Getting to see each persons Why helps me wake up & stay focused every day. What’s your why when it comes to taking care of yourself, staying fit and mentally healthy? If you have one, let’s crush that goal together and make 2019 your best year yet! #fitness #fitgirls #fitover40 #wellnesswednesday #lovinglife #onelifeliveit #healthylifestyle #sweatygirl

  • I no longer force things. ✨
    What flows, flows. ✨
    What crashes, crashes. ✨
I only have space and energy for things that are meant for me.🥳 I thought of this quote after I posted the 10 Year challenge photo. Sure, I do look totally different, red hair, 20 lbs heavier, (➡️ the pic) but what about the real stuff? The growth? I was just starting my 40’s, just starting to come into my own. Releasing myself of the of all the garbage I was telling myself in my 30’s. I’d try to fix everything, make things “perfect” whatever the hell that is? I often think behind the urge to “control” everything or to “fix” everything is fear. What if things don’t workout, if they don’t go as planned? I have shown myself, that sometimes things go better. I’ve screwed up enough stuff to see it all works out. Take the ego out to allow for growth. Sometimes things go better, sometimes not so great, but I can handle it! Even as I embarked on yet another “fitness” and “nutrition”, I made a shift in attitude, I decided to focus more on being in the moment, letting go and accepting the flow. I just had fun. Got comfortable where I was in that moment and just went with it. I surrounded myself with people that knew what they were doing, went towards “the light”. It was liberating, I no longer fought the process. There were a number of lessons and there still are a number more. Its all about what I call the pivot. You can take a wrong turn and end up on a better road you never knew existed. I know I can handle it, bring it! I got this, and so do you! ✨

  • FULL TUTORIAL —>. LINK IN BIO. Raise your hand if you like a good strong butt 🙋🏻‍♀️
Yeah me too. Having strong glutes:
    -
✅Stabilizes your pelvis which helps reduce low back injuries and knee injuries.
✅Provides power for all of your compound moves.
✅ Not to mention strong glutes look good🍑.
    -
🔹Enter one of the most underrated glute exercises there is: The Single Leg Hip Thrust. This exercise can be done anywhere, and if you don’t have any weight to use? No problem. Done correctly, you butt will burn like the fire in my fireplace.🔥. You won’t need any weight.
    -
    🔹So let’s set this up:
    -
✅Shoulder blades need to start on the bench (or whatever you are using), and they will act as a pivot point. So you will see when I lower my hips, my shoulders don’t stay glued to the top of the bench. They actually rotate slightly and end up on and against the edge of the bench at the lowest point. This is crucial because if you leave your shoulders on top of the bench as you try to lower your hips, your back is going to arch like crazy, and it’s not going to feel good at all.
    -
✅Feet flat on the floor and knees at 90 degrees. I keep my arms long and palms facing up so I don’t grip on to the bench. One foot slightly in the air, and I keep my chin relatively tucked.
    -
✅Lower the hips and push the ribs down as you go to keep your back from arching too much. Push up through the heel, and squeeze the ba-jeebees out of that glute at the top.
    -
🔹So many ways to progress this exercise-add a half rep, add constant tension, add an ISO hold at the top (OMG), add a band etc.
    -
🔹Try 3 sets of 10-12 reps per leg. Not quite ready to do these off of a bench? (It’s tough y’all) Do them from the floor in a glute bridge position. Get solid there, then progress up to a bench. FULL TUTORIAL: LINK IN BIO
    -
🔹And you want to really light up those glutes? Try this superset:
    -
    ➡️Banded Monster Walks x 10/leg.
    ➡️Single Leg Hip Thrust x 10/leg.
    -
Pure fire 🔥. Have fun with it all!🔹

    Love you

  • I only have one of these. It allows me to experience life. I can love and be loved with this body. It is my connection to all experience.

My job is to feed it the correct fuel for maximum performance. It is also my job to maintain it with exercise for maximum performance and minimum wear and tear.
My mind is the most difficult to maintain. It craves comfort which makes my body weak. It craves food that destroys health.
My conscious awareness is the only tool I have to manage this ship. I experiment, learn and fine tune what works and what does not. Without conscious awareness I fall into comfort, over indulgence and weakness.
Consciousness knows true happiness lies in health, while unconsciousness is fooled into excess, waste and a steep slide into decay.
Conscious awareness is the light unconsciousness is the darkness.
Turn the light on so you can see where your ship is going.
