  • This view shows the moisture in the upper atmosphere right around 30,000 feet. This enables us to see a variety of weather features in the upper atmosphere including disturbances that eventually can spark big thunderstorms across the country as well as other types of storms such as the coastal systems that bring heavy rain and snow to the East Coast in the cold season. Because this view doesn’t use the sun’s radiation to produce its images, you can see it both day and night.
