  • Kantini
  • Next ramen stop was @yuzuramen_berlin at @kantiniberlin in @bikiniberlin close to legendary Bahnhof Zoo. I was quite intrigued by the concept of pimping ramen broth with yuzu. Yuzu is a citrus fruit from Asia which gets more and more popular in Europe. The taste is sour and slightly bitter and much more complex than for example lemons. I added a really great slow cooked egg to the yuzu ramen but unfortunately the noodles were over cooked and so to soft. The broth was good but to be honest I already had several better ramen. Maybe it was just the timing as we met quite late and I think I was one of the last guests for the day.

  • A lovely and cozy Japanese restaurant (and grocery store) that makes you feel like home 🇯🇵 I seriously wanted to try all their menus! My friend and I ordered veggie Tempura with rice and miso soup (~8€), sushi with eel and avocado (~10€)(super yum omg 😍) and super fresh Chirashi Sushi rice (~12€) The quality of the food was real good and the prices were reasonable! 👍🏻

  • Trattoria Pizzeria Roma
  • [unpaid advert, food was free] after all the pizza and @ramazzottirosato_de I truly was full in both the German and English sense, yet the food kept coming... here’s the pasta we tried at @foodtasterberlin’s foodie dinner at @trattoriapizzeria.roma (from top to bottom): Tortelloni al Tartufo (€13.5) - homemade Tortellini filled with truffle in a butter, sage, Parmesan and truffle sauce 9/10 Penne alla Norma (€10) pasta with aubergine, salted ricotta and basil in a tomato sauce 7/10 and Tagliatelle al Salmone (€13) - squid-ink pasta with salmon in a creamy sauce 7.5/10 🍝 I have to admit that I will always go for pizza over pasta at Italian restaurants, because I personally find it way easier to make great pasta at home than pizza (our oven just isn’t hot enough), so the two pasta dishes didn’t really wow me, but the Tortelloni were absolutely amazing! I went into the dinner thinking that truffle was just another overrated ingredient that did nothing except be expensive, but I was proven so, so wrong - this is the worst thing to happen to a poor student like me, as my tastes just got hella more expensive. I have no regrets though, I spent a truly fantastic evening with the loveliest people, can’t wait for the next meet-up 💕💕💕
