  • Feeling inflamed 😣 #thisisMS so I've been eating (& craving!) as many anti-inflammatory foods I can get my hands on, featuring tonight's lineup: Plaisirs Gastronomique curried cauliflower (with extra black pepper & tumeric, and a bonus zucchini) and Tasty Bites Jaipur Veggies with some chicken added in. Easy AF 👌🏻 I've started "cutting corners" with meal prep the last few months, which has been great because I don't always have the energy to actually cook things, especially now, as I'm trying desperately to pass my final exam tomorrow 😩 Time & energy are literally like money these days... 😅🤷🏻‍♀️ oh, and some wine hangin' in the background, because it's good for the soul #balance 💕 here's hoping this all-star lineup does me some good...!🤞🏻 #theadventuresofCaitandMS #multiplesclerosis #MS #SP #scleroseenplaques #studentlife #whydidisignupforthis

    I’ve noticed lately that a lot of people have high expectations of others, that’s cool, but be mindful that the expectation you set is what you also owe to others.

    1️⃣Make it a lifestyle. It’s not about the perfect diet. It’s about positive habits compounding to become who we are. There are no “good” or “bad” days. It’s about eating as healthy as you can balanced with the occasional mindful treat. It can be a steep learning curve to get lean, but once you lose the weight it’s easier to maintain. Having a coach or mentor who has the experience is key to most people’s success.

    2️⃣Consistent and effective workouts. Always showing up. Walking into the gym with a plan and intention. Weight training 3-4 days/week combined with a generally active lifestyle (8,000+ steps). Workouts need to have an enjoyment factor and be realistic given our time constraints. Daily non-exercise activity is a given - walking at lunch, taking the stairs, playing with the kids, walking the dog, etc.
    .
    3️⃣Goal setting and visualization. Believe you can attain the body and lifestyle you want or hire a coach who will be your biggest supporter. If we don’t believe in ourselves, we will self-sabotage. The most common is under-eating all week and then binging on the weekends.

    4️⃣Planning and organization. There are 168 hours in a week. All we need is 3 hours to workout. Be relentless with your schedule. Schedule in workouts and meal prep. Put yourself first so you can be a better person for those you care about.
    .
    5️⃣Sleep and Stress Management. Get in bed at the same time each night. Sleep 8 hours. Manage stress levels with meditation, breathing, yoga, walks, reading, etc. for hormone health, workout recovery and energy levels.

  • BALANCE - I love learning from those that have lived. What you need to know.....1. My neighbor Kathy is in her retirement and 2. this picture is our solarium in the condo we share. 3. Our building has an adult only YMCA on the second floor which we all utilize- especially Kathy taking several classes. But Kathy bought a bike a few years ago. When I saw her riding her new bike in the solarium I thought it was odd since we have a bike trail behind us and multiple bikes down in the Y. So one day I asked Kathy why she just didn’t use the bikes down stairs for exercise? She explained to me that she didn’t buy the bike for exercise......she bought it to help with her ‘balance’. She explained as she has aged her balance was fading too and her doctor recommended biking, but she was not comfortable out on the trail, so she practices inside where it’s safe. Mind you Kathy is a very worldly and educated woman and certainly has not led a sedentary life but she needs to practice what naturally will fade. I’ve never forgotten that lesson and so I make a point to continue my balance practice too. #yogaeverydamnday #itsnevertoolatetostart #healthylifestyle #truestory #balance

    My team and I are helping each other get through the holidays and we can help you too!👏🏻 There is a way to achieve BALANCE- and that includes eating delicious foods and indulging in some alcohol when the occasion arises. I do it myself without feeling the slightest bit of guilt. When you work hard, and remain consistent, you can TREAT yourself. .

So, here I am again - Taylor and I would love to see you and your kiddo(s) @kulagrandrapids tomorrow for the 9:30am Vinyasa class. $7 for the first kid and $3 for each after (6+ months). No kids?! No problem, class is in a separate studio so you won’t even know they’re there!

  • Baby boy, how are you 18 months old already? I love you so much. My days spent with you are something I'd never trade for the world. Oh Lord, you are such a handful, but I know this time is so short and sweet. The challenge to get you here was big for us, but more than worth it, and I'll never take you for granted. I think daily about how blessed we are that you are here and how for others, the struggle of bearing a child is very real in this exact moment in time. I think about how many have lost babies. I think about all the things....a lot. I say this because I want you all to know that I'm here for for if you ever need me. I've been through struggles of my own and know many who have been through hell. And I struggle still. I've never experienced loss, but am here to hold your hand and listen. Being a mom is hard but it's also hard not being a mom for those who want to be. I get it. I believe wholeheartedly there is a plan for you. It might not be understood yet or seen, but there's a big big plan for you.

  • After a morning of cleaning, running errands, a workout and doing the last of my Christmas stuff, there’s nothing better than sitting down to a healthy balanced brunch 😍. This is my ultimate meal at the moment and I just can’t get enough of it. Avocado toast with lemon salt and pepper, cherry toms, wilted spinach and scrambled eggs. All topped with nutritional yeast and sriracha. Don’t let the Christmas craziness get the best of you 💪

  • This past weekend was one of those weekends where the alignment felt deep and the inspiration so divine. Things are shifting within me - and fast. I can feel that a higher purpose is calling me forward to step up in various ways... So taking the time to get quiet as we move into the last few weeks of the year ( I know wtf 2018 where did you go?). Creating space to be introspective and take inventory of all that’s happened and all that’s to come. Where do I need to surrender and let go? Where am I hiding and playing small? And where do I need to be taking the leaps of faith necessary to pursue what’s on my heart with more fearlessness? -

    Resolutions are available to us at any day of the year but it never hurts to utilize this time as an opportunity to shed and be born again. So begin to turn inwards. Get clear. Get crystal clear. What do you need to leave behind? What are you alchemizing and what are you actualizing? Let it go and call it in. You’re ready.🌟 -

  • VOUS POUVEZ MANGER DES BROWNIES ET ÊTRE HEUREUSE & EN SANTÉ👇🏼 Puisque le temps des fêtes approche, les discussions sur la façon dont on devrait s’alimenter se font entendre. L'idée que certains aliments sont "mauvais" ou "font grossir" est malheureusement encore présente pour plusieurs.

    Saviez-vous que le prédicteur numéro 1 du gain de poids n'est même pas la surconsommation de nourriture... ce sont les diètes et les régimes!

    C'est un des premier temps des fêtes depuis les 5 dernières années que je n'ai absolument aucune intention de « manger sans fond et sans limite » lors de mes soupers de Noël pour par la suite suivre une diète stricte ou compter mes macros/calories dans le but de perdre du gras comme résolution de nouvelle année. C'est aussi la première fois que je peux affirmer haut et fort que ma relation avec la nourriture et mon corps est à son meilleur. Est-ce parfait? Ce ne le sera probablement jamais. Mais je suis définitivement dans un bien meilleur état mental, et ça se reflète directement dans mon physique. Je n'ai plus à me battre pour maintenir un "sweet spot" où je me sens à l'aise, en santé, énergisée et heureuse.

    Adopter une approche alimentaire, intuitive et intégrative de la nourriture et de la façon dont nous nous nourrissons permet à notre corps de trouver naturellement son "sweet spot". Cela étant dit, je veux vous mettre au défi de choisir principalement de vrais aliments, soit les aliments de la terre. Ce sont les aliments qui permettent de s'aligner avec soi-même, d’avoir une meilleure clarté mentale et de se reconnecter avec son intuition. Il est aussi important de voir tous les aliments comme égaux. Voyez-le comme une expérience; quand nous enlevons l'attrait que les "mauvais aliments" ont, ils deviennent soudainement moins attrayants et ont beaucoup moins d’impact dans notre quotidien.

    Finalement, n'attendez pas d'avoir le "corps parfait" pour vivre votre vie au maximum. Le corps parfait n’existe pas. Et quand vous essayez de l’atteindre, votre idée de perfection devient extrêmement tordue. Honorez votre esprit et votre corps évoluera naturellement où il doit être 🌱

  • 🌟E T O I L E🖤🌸🌟 Il n'y a encore pas si longtemp que ça, la majorité de mon entourage plus ou moins proche essayait de me convaincre qu'instagram c'est de la fiction.
    Relativisons 2 minutes.

    Ce que ces gens appellent de la fiction est en faite une realité qui les dépassent, qu ils n arrivent pas à apprehender. En effet c'est plus confortable et rassurant de ce dire que quelque chose n existe pas pour ne pas à avoir à l affronter. Un peu comme le diable d'ailleur☻ Cette pratique mesdames et messieurs porte un nom : ça s appelle de la lacheté.

    Cela dit lorsque vous avez l humilité de rencontrer ces gens, vous verrez ce que j'ai vu.
    J'ai vu des braves quelque soit le niveau se tabasser au delà de l imaginable, j ai vu mon sensei @animalshadow⚫🔴 à l oeuvre. Et je peux vous dire que ma notion de la realité elle s'est prise une fessée en levrette avec un doigt dans le cul jusqu au larynx😉 Quand je l'ai vu lui et toute la meute @xtremotivation... Plus que des bodybuilders ce sont des puissances qui m'ont fait comprendre que la realité n est qu une notion subjective et que si on travaille dur, on peut devenir et etre qui on veut dans notre realité et la faconner à notre image.

    Là dessus s'ajoute des gens extra comme ceux qui chassent les dragons avec moi, les muscles up, qui tabassent, ceux qui vrillent ceux qui rigolent, ceux qui se battent pour leurs projets quels qu'ils soient☄ ☡je vais donner dans le mieleux. partez dès maintenant à la recherche de mes couilles. Elles sont au japon il parait😉☡ Quand on ne se sens pas forcément compris dans un monde de ténèbres meme si on ne les voit pas, on sait qu ils sont là, un peu comme les étoiles.🌟 Et c'est pour ça que j aime en baver : les étoiles il n y a que la nuit que tu les voit briller .

    Et parmis toutes celles qui sont dans le ciel il y en a une qui te donnera une direction badass
