*An acknowledgement to family: past, present & future (not just immediate;nor blood related) - my spiritual medicine to MH.

TITLE: The Deep Sea Navigator 🐒
DATE: December 2018

MOOD: Stable - inspired by festive season (gathering of family) πŸŽ„
SONGLINE: Many cultures depict the turtle as symbolic: family, wellness, guidance, & eternity. Placed centrally as a representation of my core in life, my navigator. The blue & green represents a vibe in a deep ocean like theme, similar to my familyβ€˜s bond.

DETAILS:
With any form of ill mental health, support networks are crucial towards successful recovery and management. Family being a huge component - represented through the turtle (Goorlil), surrounded by the ocean this correlates to the deep (sea) emotional turmoils & zest. Among many connections between individuals, like many of the undiscovered oceans in a way family connection or history can either be lost or yet to be made - aftermath of stolen generations, removal of guidance or just ever so changing.

Fracking is a practice where drilling is used to fracture the ground and release trapped gas to produce liquid "natural" gas (LNG). You've probably seen buses with greenwashing (making misleading claims about environmental benefits) that are powered by natural gas! A few weeks ago the WA government lifted its moratorium fracking. 98% of WA to remain frack free! That leaves 2% of WA, an area the same size as Tasmania where fracking can continue. That might not sound like an issue except approximately 50% of this 2% is in the Kimberley. The Perth, Peel and South West regions will remain frack-free. I have issues with a lot of this. Firstly, WA extends beyond Perth and the South West. Secondly, farmers and native title holders may have the right to refuse however that will involve a long negotiation process with big energy companies who have a lot more money and a lot better lawyers. And lastly, natural gas is a non-renewable resource that contributes to climate and global warming. The government might have great 'plans' to minimise risk but that doesn't ensure anything. Our earth is dangered by leaks in the process of fracking and through carbon emissions when the gas is used. These "plans" to reduce risk have not worked thus far. Why can farmers set their water bores on fire? Why are we jeopardising agricultural land when food security and global warming are two of the biggest threats we have ever faced. Australia is in no way going to be able to reach its sad excuse for a carbon emissions target the way it's going. So much money and effort has gone into the extraction of fossil fuels and for what? We have renewable and safe alternative energy options. Ones that too will create jobs and boost the economy but without impacting our future. Victoria has permanently banned fracking. If you think WA should too please sign a petition and act! Link in my bio and here - http://www.frackfreewa.org.au/dont_frack_the_kimberleyβ €
